Early Voting
Statewide Dates: Early voting in North Carolina begins on Thursday, October 17, 2024, and ends on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Mecklenburg County Hours:
Weekdays: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturdays (October 19, 26, and November 2): 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sundays (October 20 and 27): 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Locations in Mecklenburg County: There are 33 early voting sites across the county, including various Charlotte Mecklenburg Library branches such as Allegra Westbrooks Regional, South County Regional, and others.

Finding Polling Locations
You can find your assigned polling place by visiting the North Carolina State Board of Elections website and entering your details.
During early voting, you can vote at any early voting site within your county.

Same-Day Registration
North Carolina allows same-day registration during the early voting period. If you’re not registered, you can register and vote at the same time. You’ll need to provide proof of residency, such as a government-issued ID or a utility bill.

Checking Voter Status
To check your voter registration status, visit North Carolina's voter lookup tool. This will provide information on your registration status, polling place, and a sample ballot.

Election Day Details
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. statewide. If you’re in line by 7:30 p.m., you’ll be allowed to vote.

Voter ID Requirements
North Carolina requires voters to present a valid photo ID. If you don’t have one, you can still vote by signing a "reasonable impediment" declaration explaining why you couldn’t obtain an ID.
